LIMA (Reuters) -Peruvian President Dina Boluarte on Wednesday named Eduardo Arana, the Andean nation's latest justice minister, to become prime minister. His naming comes a day after the previous prime minister, Gustavo Adrianzen, resigned ahead of a censure vote in Congress on his handling of crime and the killing of a group of miners.

The prime minister of Peru, Gustavo Adrianzén, has resigned hours before he was due to face a no-confidence vote in Congress. Members of Peru's Congress had called for the no-confidence vote after the recent kidnap and killing of 13 mine workers, which shocked the country.

Peru’s prime minister resigned on Tuesday evening after a last-ditch attempt at a cabinet reshuffle did not placate opposition lawmakers who demanded his ouster.
