Anunoby exited to the locker room after sustaining an apparent hamstring injury during the first quarter of Monday's Game 4 against the Celtics, Steve Popper of Newsday reports.
New York, 52 years since their last NBA title, are now one game away from ending defending champion the Celtics’ season.
Anunoby is performing at a clip only a few ex-Hoosiers have reached in the NBA Playoffs. In seven games for the New York Knicks, Anunoby is averaging 19 points and 4.7 rebounds. He’s also made 43.8% of his shots, including 39.6% from 3-point range, as well hitting at an 88% clip at the free throw line.
BOSTON — The equation is simple for the Knicks with OG Anunoby in the playoffs. Between last year and this year, the Knicks are a perfect 8-0 in postseason games when Anunoby attempts 14 or more field goals. Conversely, they are 4-8 in games when he attempts 13 or fewer field goals.
Celtics star Jayson Tatum had to be carried off the court after suffering a right leg injury late in the fourth quarter of Boston's Game 4 loss to the Knicks on Monday night.
