Manchester City have 'opened talks' to sign a replacement for Kyle Walker but a deal will have to be rushed through to get him at a cut-price fee. Man City have splashed the cash this summer, having snapped up Tijjani Reijnders from AC Milan, Rayan Ait-Nouri from Wolves and Rayan Cherki from Lyon.

Walker was subsequently left out of City’s Club World Cup squad as talks over a move away from the club began. Everton were named as suitors earlier this summer, but The Athletic were the first to reveal that Burnley have struck an agreement.
