Much to Houston Texans running back Joe Mixon’s dismay, the NFL’s newest personal safety penalty was not issued on field this season. League executive vice president overseeing player health and safety Jeff Miller confirmed Thursday that a violation of the NFL’s hip-drop tackle rule was not called by officials during a game this year.

"I'm getting fined by the (NFL) for what someone else said," Houston Texans running back Joe Mixon tweeted earlier this week.
