The move comes days after the Trump administration announced it was pulling $400 million in funding from Columbia University.
The Department of Education said it has canceled $400 million worth of federal grants to Columbia University over “continued inaction in the face of persistent harassment of Jewish students.”
Trump told reporters that he doesn’t believe student loans should be run under the Department of Education, and instead will likely end up being run under the Treasury Department, the Small Business Administration (SBA), or the Commerce Department.
