During a call between U.S. President Donald Trump and his Ukrainian counterpart, the U.S. leader apparently suggested Volodymyr Zelenskyy consider transferring ownership of Ukraine’s power plants to the U.

Ukraine’s Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant, occupied by Russian forces since the early days of the war, could be restored and protected by US ownership – at least according to the Americans.

The Trump administration’s latest idea to bring peace to Ukraine is for the U.S. to take control of the country’s power plants, including its nuclear facilities, as an insurance against further aggression by Moscow toward Kyiv.
