Three men from Boston and Cambridge sounded an SOS on Sunday evening after encountering potentially dangerous, snowy conditions in the White Mountains of New Hampshire.

Dozens of skiers had to be rescued from a broken chairlift on Cannon Mountain in New Hampshire Wednesday morning.

Three men were on a training hike when they got caught in whiteout conditions and had to send an SOS message, New Hampshire rescuers said. Rescuers got the message from the men’s satellite device at 5:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 9, from the Mount Lincoln area, the New Hampshire Fish and Game Department Law Enforcement Division said in a Facebook post.

Rescuers helped guide three hikers caught in whiteout conditions on Franconia Ridge in New Hampshire to safety after responding to an SOS alert Sunday evening. The response began around 5:30 p.m. when the New Hampshire Fish and Game Rescue Coordination Center received an SOS alert from the area of Mount Lincoln.
