President Trump has ordered immigration agents to arrest migrant families with children in a new nationwide sweep. According to NBC News, citing three sources, the operation targets families who entered the country together and who already have deportation orders.

U.S. President Donald Trump kicked off a wide-ranging immigration crackdown after taking office on January 20, aiming to reduce illegal crossings at the U.S.-Mexico border and deport record numbers of immigrants without legal status.

Arrests inside the country are up sharply relative to the Biden administration but below levels seen when agents made a show of force at the start of President Trump’s term.
