Los Angeles Angels right fielder Mike Trout provided a positive update on the bone bruise on his left knee which landed him on the 10-day injured list May 2, two days after leaving a game against the Seattle Mariners early.

Instead, Trout remains on the IL after his latest knee injury, one he suffered in an awkward collision during an April 30 loss to the Seattle Mariners. Although Trout will join the Angels for their upcoming three-game series against the San Diego Padres, that doesn’t mean we’ll see the future Hall of Famer in action this week.

Trout, who is out with a bruised left knee, says he’s been hitting and could start running early next week. He’s eligible to come off the injured list on Sunday.
