Meta has joined forces with Spotify, Garmin, Match, and others to form a lobby group to represent their interests, especially as they come into conflict with those of Apple and Google. The group’s first order of business is arguing that age verification should be the responsibility of app stores, and not the apps themselves.

The standalone app comes as Meta looks to boost the AI assistant's usage, apart from being available within the company's family of social platforms.

Meta Platforms on Tuesday (April 29) announced a new standalone AI assistant and an application programming interface in a bid to woo businesses to more easily build AI products using its Llama artificial-intelligence models.
