Kansas City Royals All-Star pitchers Cole Ragans and Seth Lugo were placed on the 15-day injured list on Saturday. Left-hander Ragans was moved to the list with a left groin strain and right-hander Lugo with a third finger sprain.

The Royals’ rotation took a big hit on Saturday when the team placed Seth Lugo (right third finger sprain) and Cole Ragans (left groin strain) on the 15-day injured list. Lugo’s IL stint is retroactive to Wednesday.

The Royals placed both Lugo and Ragans on the injured list Saturday. Ragans is suffering from a groin strain, while Lugo has a finger sprain. The latter's IL stint is retroactive to May 14. Ragans suffered his injury against the Boston Red Sox on Friday night as he allowed four runs in five innings while striking out eight in the Royals' 10-3 loss.
